    Not too good

Split my CRF engine this arvo. Big end bearing detroyed itself and the result isnt too nice. Luckily they have separarte crankcase oil and gearbox oil so the damage was limited to the the crankcase. The second photo is of all the metal that was floating around inside. In the first photo you can see where the piston has hit the crank shaft after the bearing collapsed and has mushroomed the bottom of the piston.

Those 4-stroke MX bikes are never good when something goes wrong... its usually catastrophic.

abcraig i am going for a hotrods standard crank. prices are good. I dont understand why it did what it did. I run quality oil and change it all the time. It must have just been a dodgy bearing. Its gouged the cases so I am taking them to the dealer to have a look at. Hope they are ok.

yea I hope ya case is alright but should be able to get it weld if it has to be I know my mates wrf case cost him 3k. It's probably changing the oil thing that imploded it, honda's love being treated rough. nah but changing the oil is about all the maintenence I do to mine. I bought 3 x oil filters of ebay the other day got em for 20 delivered. not a huge saving but a saving

$950 in parts so far. Plus $150 for a manual and a new chain guide. I am only paying labour for honing the bore and fitting main bearings and one gearbox bearing so that will be on top.
