byron,my osteo doesnt do bone cracking he tends towards soft tissue manipulation etc..i dont do chiropractors coz i did them when i was young and found it too be no good..

They are dogs and need to be treated with respect. As far as I can see if they are in a place heavily populated then they need to be under constant control.

As for breeding traits out, it may work for a majority of animals, but the traits will never be removed completely. Look at any cattle property that culls on temprement. Its a job that never ends. Even quiet cattle can throw cranky calves.

There are no doubt a lot of dogs bred by people that have no idea and taint it for everyone else.

I dont care what anyone says, any dog is potentially dangerous to a toddler.

Oz obviously has the same problem I do. The ability is there to go and spend 40 large on a new SS but we'd rather drive around some old beater that's done more KM than the design intended but never lets us down and never causes any worry or stress. I just upgraded my daily driver from a 600cc 2 cyl Subaru Sherpa that was free to a 92 Hiace with over 500,000km on the body and a 150k old VR V6 and auto box installed. Swapped it for a 350 engine and turbo box.

I go to Bunnings some saturdays purely to get a sausage sandwich. Don't even go into the store. It's a 20 min drive each way too but worth it for the sake of supporting the community clubs and events. That's how I justify it to the wife anyway.

I used to own pitbulls too and did lots of pig hunting in the eighties with some before they were fashionable. Some were bred from game dogs (if ya know the term) and I still would never trust them around the kids without me there. I put the last one down when my eldest was about 1yo. The childrens mother wouldnt listen and leave them locked in the run when I wasn't there. These had killed and been used for hunting and were not used to living in town at the time.

Being one of the last breeds, other than greyhounds, bred not for looks but purely on performance they are unique. Pure old family red nose dogs were brought from Irish settlers to America and have been selectively bred ever since. Most of the Australian dogs around that time had came through England and NZ to here.

They are the gamest dog and perform amazing feats and have consitutions that is simply incredable. I have seen some of that... but I wouldn't trust them alone with my kids.

Nothing like a t bone to finish the day I just had a few schooner of old and a T bone at the pub for tea so I think it is better to end the the day with a T BONE than start t day with one
