i would go the edelbrock..to make it less noticeable that its not standard just linish off the edelbrock castings..most people would then not pick it from original.

Blocker, just fit an original HQ-HJ manifold. Flow as well as a Performer, and look stock. I can sell you a good one I have spare if you like if you can't find one locally.

I've got a (never used) John Cain manifold somewhere to suit a 253/308 that was slightly milled to suit a blower.
But the thing is it is supposed to fit twin carter carbies and the manifold is the standard manifold type.
I had a picture if one similar somewhere.
Have been told they are EXTREMELY rare and are worth near $1k for the right person.

i gave an old weiand team G inlet manifold (1970's stuff) an acid bast once at a machine shop, $10. came out mint!
had to paint it afterwards as it was a bit pitted after the oxidation was lifted.

i feel the KC ones aren't as good quality material as the edelbrock ones, only beacuse of the corrosion i have seen always seems to be on the KC ones, but edelbrock not so much.

new edelbrock ones are under $300 now, maybe $250?. Make sure it takes your rochester spreadbore (which it should do, it should take take both squarebore and spreadbore). you can special order "edelbrock performer Q-Jet" if they have changed...

Blocker ive used the eldelbrock performer for years. Ive run it on 253/308 reds and because of the dual plane design you get the best of both power curves.

The torquer was more suited to the 308 wasnt it? Too much for the mighty mouse 253.
