I'm currently working towards my HSC... I am them planning to go and become an apprentice mechanic and then after 4yrs be a full mechanic...

Then after that, I plan to go to university as a mature age student and become a mechanical engineer... While working parts time at mechanical shops (or anywhere I can get work...)

Thats the plan... Hopefully everything goes to plan...
    Cheers,
    Matt

Sounds like a good plan Matt. I'd switch to Electrical Engineering though rather than mechnical if I was you. Electrical is heaps more interesting. Electrical Engineers with mechanical nouse are very sought after. I chose Electrical due to more future opportunities even though by the time I was 18 I had a lot of mechanical experience from playing with bikes and cars from about 12 (rebuilding engines, modifying bikes into trikes etc).

Yeah, I have been thinking about what I am going to do for a while... I have been looking at all the engineering types... and decided that it would either be mechanical or electrical... Maybe mechatronic engineer (mechanical, electrical, computer and software engineering...) But I think that is going to be a bit hard for me...

So it will be either Mechanical or Electrical...

But hopefully it all goes smoothly and I get to where I want to be...
    Cheers,
    Matt
