That's a very good looking car, well done. I had an 04 VY SS and it came with those wheel's, they look great.

"Proud To Be An Old Fart".
They should have really been a Monaro SV6, as they are really a 2 door S pack, where the CV8 is a Calais spec vehicle.
Much rarer than a CV8 though. Please keep it original, don't make it look like an XC Falcon with those awful bonnet scoops. Those and the lack of a boot is what made me buy a V2 instead of a VZ.
100% positive they should VX SS WHEELS on it also found on Storm UTE etc, I have brochure for all model moanros here if you wont me to scan it for you

If you have the brochure with the red car on the front pictured in the desert, then past the middle pages on the bottom left is a photo of the wheels mine has. I think they were carry over VY. The export GTO also ran them but a larger size from memory.

Cheers Geoff
Those wheels are the original 17" SV6 wheels for series II V2, same as VY SS ute. There were 2 x optional wheels as well. As far as I know the export GTO had the CV8 18" rims but in gloss not satin like we got here. I bought 2 x sets of them for my CV8 as they are easier to clean. They even came with Pontiac centre caps.
Optional HBD wheels were L, J and Y series. I have tried to find other images of CV6 with my wheels, it seems most get changed to the 18 inch varieties.

I just had a quick look of my original brochures.
V2 CV6 got the VX SS 17" rims as posted above on that red car by Sandman_77. V2 CV8 got the 18" HSV rims. CV6 had X, I or H design optional all 17".
V2 series II CV6 got the VY SS ute 17" rims like yours got. V2 S2 CV8 got the 5 spoke plain satin rims. CV6 had I and Y style 17" rims optional, and CV8 had an optional J style. I style were quite nice, same rims optional on V2 CV6.
V2 series II had no CV6, and CV8 had same rims standard as series II with M and J style rims optional both 18". Not sure what M style look like as there is no picture.
VZ CV8 got the wider satin 5 spoke rims, CV8Z were the same basic thing but brushed/polished. Optional rims were 18" J, N or L rims.
V2 series III CV8-R (pulse red car) got 5 spoke rims with blackouts in 18". I think the V2 series II CV8-R (grey car with wierd trim) had the same rims.
Just sold our 2003 series II CV8 in black with red leather. Very sad to see it go but needed the funds to purchase the new daily drive. Only had it advertised for about 5 hours before 1st call from a bloke who bought it that weekend. I would have loved to stick it away for 10 years instead of selling it. I think these will be desired in the future. Not sure on the 6 cylinder though. They were not very popular at the time, hence the low sales and the withdrawal from sale by Holden. They will be rarer like a 6 in a Sandman but not wanted as much.
