The Impco 300 is almost invariably used "upside down" on the end of a snorkel, which fits onto the top of a 4bbl carby.
The frame of the 300 mixer takes a 70s Valiant filter, and it's held on by a black metal plate that fits onto the mixer itself (on the same face as the vapour line).
If you need them, I can take some pics of my setup at present, which is how the Impco 300 was sold as a standard dual fuel package.
Currently on the Brock wagon, while I'm waiting for a 425!
It's got too much compression to run on fuel. The heads have had that much off them, that it's got 1/8" washers under the rocker supports, and the manifold is metal to metal on the valley ends of the block. It was all done prior to my ownership, and they're all the original parts (especially the modded intake) so I didn't want to change them. Plus it's pretty hard to find a good pair of VL heads that aren't cracked.
A mate went through 8 heads to get 2 good ones.
