I was going to stay out of this shit fight...and maybe I'll regret having gotten into it, but here is my 2 cents worth.

1 cent : The "option" Sandman wasn't a recognised "model" by any RTA (as far as I'm aware) neither was Belmont or Kingswood.....they were HQ HJ HX HZ Sedan, Ute, Panel Van, Coupe were they not?

Another 1 cent : I had a mate who put a 1948 Chev ute body on a HQ chassis. For rego he had to put a HQ tyre placard in the glovebox and a "knock off" rear vision mirror in the cabin...just like a HQ J X Z and interior sun visors. It was registered as a HQ Holden because thats what the chassis was....it had SFA to do with the body.

I really dont want to get into the nuts and bolts of the argument but even an XY GTHO Phase 3 was registered simply as a Falcon sedan. All the fancy names and tags mean zip to rego.

Im defence of the Sandman argument I agree that it is a bit rude to try and pass off a non Sandman as a Sandman.:errf:...but it comes down to "buyer beware"
