well i thought id give the bag of worms another stur up lol, heres a situation for you guys, what if you knew of a sandman locally 20years ago that was stripped and turfed, id plates and all, just the chassie remains,you know it was a sandman, but no way to prove, whats it make it now, even if you put another sandman body and tags back on, is it still a sandman? becasue you cant prove its a sandman chassie???wont it just be a sandman body on a different chassie even if it is a sandman chassie

so without the original tags its no longer a sandman, which means the tags are what determines sandman or not?
If you buy a full original numbers genuine sandman, then during the restoration, the block gets decked and you loose the engine number. You smooth out the chasis and loose the chasis number. Then you find out the painter lost the ID plates while he was takeing rust off the cowl. Is it still a sandman? yes. Is anyone going to listen to your story and pay sandman money if/when you want to sell it? no.
