    This is my last entry to this debate.... I hope.
    When some low life moron steals your car, you go to the police, they ask for the identifying numbers to aid in recovery. There is no point telling them the option codes off the id plates is there. You give them the chassis number and the engine number. Why do we do this? Because they are the legal identity of the car.

    Hard one as it still retails both chassis and both VIN/chassis numbers. Not sure why you'd use an FJ55 though. A GQ Patrol woul be better.
