I made up my own soda blaster for cleaning "delicates" I used it on my grille to get the black paint off and the original carby I had came up like new.
I used a "body shults" gun (the kind that you use to apply sound deadner) and stuck into a packet of baking soda. It's slow...but it works and is good for stuff that would otherwise be destroyed by other balsting methods.

Yep, I got one of them and they are excellent...... trick is to have a big enough compressor, too small and as Oz said.. it takes a long time to blast your parts.

I also have a pressure blaster... the stand up one with the pressure tank... you can get away with a smaller compressor with one of these and they work really well... just bloody messy unless you make up a cabinet. I have blasted many layers of paint off wheel rims in minutes with garnet media.

You'll need a compressor around this size but maybe not as big.

I have a 3hp compressor and reckon it wont keep up with the blasting of small parts, too much air going through the gun so I would have to wait every few minutes for the pressure to get back up. I'll just take my box of bits down to the local bloke and get him to do it - someone needs to keep this Australian economy afloat!

If you don't mind a mini desert in your back yard these work really well with garnet media for blasting chassis parts, wheel rims etc. A 3hp compressor would run it no worries and mine was $126 from Trade Tools in Brisbane. Far cheaper than paying blasting prices unless you have a mate that does it for mates rates.
