Have I just bought a Sandman.

I just had a better look at it. I am about 95% confident it is an XU3 Sandman. Can you PM me some more ID plate details and i'll check it out further? If it is it is the first Firethorn (Spanish Red) Sandman I personally have recorded. There are 2 x others in the database. When I first started the database Ben Stewart gave me about 20 or so vehicles that he had recorded over the years along with Monaros, and the other 2 x Firethorn Sandman examples were in that lot.

Is the 63 trim code the give away?

Firethorn looks to be a rare colour I have 4 recorded from about 430 HZ's

Any sign of blackouts on the car? If it's had a respray there might still be something under the paint to confirm it for you.

i would of looked for foot well lights to confirm also being a HZ.

Hi guys, sorry but have been inter state working until tonight.
Plates read HZ8WM70, body number 4482237-A, Trim- 1189-63C, Eng- L32, trans- M20, Diff-GV4.
Second plate reads- Holden HZ Panelvan, 05/79 , GVM 2200, Seating -2, Chassis number matches next number .
Small plate reads - 8M70RJL448237.
Van has black outs around windows and full roof lining, does have lights in footwell, original console brackets, GTS dash looks as though it has never been out, twin headlight front but does have GTS guards, hope this will help you to help me, was going to paint it yellow but may have to paint it the factory color if its a rare color, Cheers Andrew.
