    Workshop Consumables Costs

Just wanting to know what you would expect to pay for workshop consumables while Restoring a van.
Does not include the cost of paint (paid cash upfront), sandblasting, parts etc..

Would Include, Primer, Sandpaper, Gunwash, Wire wheels, bog, masking paper etc..

cheers guys (@Jennie or rod if you could pm me that would be great as our paint jobs have been very similar)

the way a normal quote works is any thing that is conected to painting ie paper and pruducts is in your paint section.your hourly rate in the panel side of things includes filler and paper. consuables is the odd nut and bolt and clip you may have missed but you do not get allowed alot for consuables. sand blasting should be listed in your paint or supply section

All Paint (to my knowledge), sandblasting, nuts and bolts, panels, labour has been paid for. Just trying to get a feel for the cost of the workshop sundries so to speak. Cheers though Kruiz for that.

    just painting my van now

2k primer cost me $180 you may also need high fill ..
You may need a base coat to give better coverage of the top coat $60-100
sandpaper/discs and wet dry speed-file etc cost me about $80-100
flap discs and strip discs range from $5-$30 each
Prices may be much higher if you go bare metal
    gun-wash about $20 4L
apart from paint ..you require thinners and hardener for the 2k top coat..
bog is $40-50 for 4 liters plus you require fine file and maybe spot putty..
masking tape is $7-$20 a roll fine line is super expensive..Used for blackouts etc..
plastic masking sheets add up by the time u finish the job i have spent close to $100 on them
    It all adds up
I am doing the lot myself and i have spent around $1000
Lucky i got a mate who is a painter to apply the top coat and help me along the way..
