ahhh. the old conversion thingo.... just did mine from 202 to 308.... i have an 83 wb as well with windows... read your problem with filling in the windows... apparently you have to be very lucky to find someone who can do this w/out warping. Re the engine, i did see a few on ebay not so long ago, not that badly priced either, but on the east coast. What transmission/gearbox u going with?
it's here and I love it!!
yeah you have to be lucky, i was unlucky haha, all sorted now and he is fixing it up.
thats my problem haha everything good is on the east coast haha
i have a five speed manual out of a supra possibly. should be able to stick with that on a v8, just might need to change ratios and get a new bell housing
i popped a TH700 behind mine, kept the 3:36 diff for now... a bit sluggish on take off, but goes well. Am thinking of going to a 3:08, but take off would be even slower, but the speedo is so far out.... 20k diff between speedo reading and actual speed.... gotta b real careful. Need to decide what to do, different diff or get the speedo modified.... can't decide damm it! There's a windowless WB on ebay at the mo.... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holden-Pa...item1e670fbcab. Has small round windows in the back. May have had the windows welded up at some stage, hard to tell from the pics.

yeah i dont have a clue about diff ratios aha.... i never knew wb's came out with panno's until i saw mine for sale. i picked it up for two and a half and spent about 9 or 10 on it ... will be sweet when its done haha
i've spent a bit more on mine so far... and i'm not finished.....yet....:twisted: It's just a cruiser, nothg spesh... but need to modify a few things... also went straight gas and got rid of petrol/gas combo.... goes soooooo much better on just the one fuel...
it's here and I love it!!
Mazdragon, the 3.36 should be a rocket taking off, but rev its head off in top gear. 3.08 will be a bit slower and better cruising revs, but most auto run a real tall ratio of 2.76 which will be the slowest taking off but most economical at highway speeds. The 3.36 you have at the moment should just about give you the holeshot at every set of trafic lights!!!!! You should also be able to lay a nice set of blackies at the same time.
none of the above.... i find it's slow to take off.... i need to speak to the guy who built it for me... i think it's running a bit lean.... which may be a bit of a problem
it's here and I love it!!
I'm starting to disagree with this comment.(No offence James mate).
Whilst going down hill or on reasonably level road, the 2.78 is great, BUT i have noticed that when you come to a hill of a decent size the motor seems to lag a bit, therefore using more fuel.
But with the 3.08 the torque is more readily available and is much easier for the motor to drag it up the hill.
The best example i ever had was with my 4b.
GQ Patrol/Ford Maverick 6" suspension lift, 2 " body lift & 35's cruising out to Mudgee used more fuel (because of the hills) then what it did with 33's or 31's.
So i'll probably go back to the ideal ratio that Holden recommended 308 with 3.08.
BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman
