No, I'm a Builder. I have been into restoring wwii jeeps since the late 90's and started restoring the speedo's and gauges for them 10yrs ago as a hobby which soon expanded into a bit more. I also do Holden speedo's and gauges on the side as well as some others.... vintage and classic cars only. There are very few places restoring speedo's and a couple of them don't do a very good job and have a long waiting time which is what got me into it in the first place.
As for your speedo I am happy to fix it for you but cost depends on what you want done to it. A complete strip, clean and re-calibration for My Sandman members is $100 (normally $150) plus any parts needed to repair it.
If you just want the odometer repaired it is $20 per hour plus parts. Most mechanical repairs don't take more than an hour. You pay all postage costs and I give a one year warranty on all repairs.
Terms are strictly cash only.

A jeep nut hey, well there you go! You do a great job on the gauges, make it look easy which I am sure it is not.
Yes, I've got a 1944 Ford Gpw jeep that I'm slowly restoring, a 1943 Bantam jeep trailer and a 1942 Australian trailer built by Ford. I also had a 1942 Willys Mb slat grill that I sold two years ago.
I got given a 1942 Ford Gpw in 1977 when we lived in Wagga Wagga and I have loved them ever since.

My brother in law has a restored Ford but not sure of year (ww2 though) and my brother has CJ2A willys(with the tail gate). I dont think 4WD have improved in ability since the Jeep. They will go any where from what I have seen!
cj2a's are fairly rare in Australia. The early jeeps are great little 4wd's, nice and light and very capable. Does your BIL go to the Canungra jeep swap in October? I may know him.

No, bit of a recluse. Friends with the Tamworth Jeep blokes though. Yeah, most jeep bloke look down on the CJ2A. Bit like a car with no Bathurst history I suppose?
