Well, talk about the last weekend away with the 202 in the van not going to plan.

I got about 25kms out the other side of Ardrossan (150kms from Adelaide) when I turned to my mate and said "yeah, this motor defiantly has something wrong with it, good thing I'm building up a replacement"
Well that just set off the curse, 5 more kms and I'm on the side of the road scratching my head wondering why it's constantly backfiring. Made the call to load all his stuff into another car in the convoy and limp back home thinking I've dropped a lifter or something equally fun.

Somehow I make it back to Adelaide where I'm greeted with this.

At this point I give up and goto plan b for weekend accommodation, just not the same, but also pretty happy there was a plan b. A pod of about 10 dolphins and I ended up carving up the waves at Berry Bay just out of corny point for a fair chunk of Sunday.
At one point me on the body board, a bloke on a long board and another guy on a surf ski were all having a friendly chat, which I think was a small miracle in itself.

So after rolling back into town late Sunday, Monday I got up and thought, well lets see what's gone wrong. About 5 minutes later I found the issue.

I just wish I'd just pulled the rocker cover off on the side of the road in the first place and I could have been sleeping in style. Anyway lesson learnt, a quick few messages to @thatotherguy to discover that my head looks different because it's off a 186 and a bit of googling to find out how you set adjustable rockers and we were back on the road again. First stop, pressure wash the engine back at the local car wash, then since I was in Port Adelaide to meet a mate, I thought I better take the standard 'abandoned warehouse photo'

I almost feel bad that I'll be swaping the motor out now after it survived that little adventure.

Cheers,
Goat
