The hook sits at the same height as the 6cyl. The difference is the pivot point. So the V8 hook sits higher off the pivot by the distance between the 6cyl and V8 pivot points. So look up under the dash and measure the distance bewteen the centre of the pivot holes and that will tell you how much higher the V8 hook sits relative to the pivot.
