ABS brakes are a huge step I suppose. Although it was probably available at the time. Seems the biggest addition to new cars these days is weight.

Airbags, depends how you define "best".
Others might be Sat Nav and Reversing cameras (although the GTR-X had a camera and CCTV screen for a rear view mirror).
That's a "big" question James. To me all advancement's are to do with safety, Air Bag's, Stability Control, Brake Assist. There are so many it's hard to nail one for me.

The door height is wrong in some cars to rest your elbow on... HQ had the perfect height ratio from seat squab to door jam.

as for worst thing... new cars with seats that are so fricken hard you'd think the factory just wrapped a few old phone books in cloth and bolted them in the vehicle. love the lounge like feel of my hz buckets, only thing better are LX torana ones, still nice and loungey yet have a little more foam on the bottom to keep your arse in the middle
Air conditioning... pffffftt that's what windows are for. In my opinion they should never of dropped the 1/4 window in the Q

Cloth trim was around way prior to Sandman, as was leather! Even my '57 Chev had leather trim. You couldn't get either in Sandman though.

True indeed HK. I was just referring to the fact that you can get cloth int in commercials now. I think the only cars that still cop vynil are the taxi cabs. maybe Police too...dont know on that for sure though.
