That is a good pair to have, I always wanted a project sandman when I was 16 but could not afford one.

Nice mate... not bad nick considering the 40 years of roaring around and shagging.

That one came out of Adelaide and sent to Sydney with the side vents.. Wonder when the cut off is for the deleting of those?

    Trim: 1885-30B
    Paint: 566-15894
    Eng: L31
    Trans: M21

    3/74
    GVW: 4850 LBS
    Seating Cap: 2

It already had GTS Dash and GTS Guards

What do you guys make of it?

Just a slight update the body number will be 805744-S on a van from that time frame.
The 8 seems to be a bit dodgy on the stamping by that time.
I would be interested to know what the firewall stamped number is on that one, it should be up around the 11XXX S range.
    Cheers Paul.

Yes HQSS spot on with the range. Does it still sound dodgy?

It isn't an Elizabeth body, Pagewood BAP built HQ van bodies. Most HQ vans have side vents, as do HD-HG where the HQ turret came from. It is only the last few months of construction that saw them deleted, from memory vans from about 5/74 onwards started to appear with the vents missing. The timeframe may vary slightly between the Pagewood, Elizabeth and Acacia Ridge plants depending upon who first used up the last of the side panels with flutes pressed into them (all pressings came from the one plant afaik).

    Sorry mate
by dodgy I was referring to the way Holden had stamped the 8 in the ID tag not your van.
If your body stamp number is in that number range it just shows that it is from the same plant and time frame as the rest of your
    vans ID tag details.
Just another tick in the box really.
    Cheers Paul.
