    hx sandman

Hi everyone drove for 3 hours and had a look at this today,
It should have been in a shed to protect her and not let it rust away. The front, doors is totally stuffed rusted away, some rust in the a pillers. Why do people do this to cars

Are you sure it is a Sandman? Did you get this VIN tag?

It has some Sandman features like the Kingswood grille and Kingswood door trims (although it could simply be a Kingswood!) plus 1950kg GVM.

However it has some Sandman features missing like GTS headlight surrounds, mirrors, blackouts. Plus it is a trimatic which is very rare in Sandman.

My guess it is an XU4 Kingswood van with a full instrument dash and sports wheel either factory ordered or fitted later. Could still be a Sandman with bits removed over the years though. Interior looks too original though to have been majorly stuffed with elsewhere.

HK1837, it can't be a kingwood, WM compliance, see Bobcats 2nd post. Bobcat did it have full headlining?

Correct, I didn't see the second post. Makes it a lot closer to being a Sandman, i'd still be very wary with it being a trimatic but being a Holden with Kingswood trim in the correct colours for the BODY tag convinces me more. If it has interior light door switches and rear headlining i'd be almost convinced.

A very rare Sandman then. From what I can tell for much of 1976 HJ and HX you could only get a trimatic behind a 253 in a Sandman and only on a van. If you wanted an auto Sandman ute you had to have L31 M41. Not sure why this was the case.
