Butchering a Sandman van

In the late 80's to mid 90's utes were all the rage and vans were as about as popular as a pork chop in a synagogue. Utes were expensive for good ones but good vans were dirt cheap.....Sooooo

Take a good straight rust free HX Sandman



Rip down to the local wreckers and pick up ute turret



Then get out the grinder or panel cutter and have at it....

Hehe, I saved them when you posted them up on SXV.... brought back memories of when I did the same thing to my old red HJ Sandman... I remember chopping into the rear with the air panel cutter and Oxy like it was yesterday.

na dont mind at all,its part of the history of what we did back when utes were worth more than vans....

have you seen the pics on another forum of the wb ute i just turned into a hj to z van???...who would of thought it would turn around...:twisted:

Yes I have seen it and it looks really good, well done. I think the fact that we modified and chopped so many up makes them worth more today. Funny how trends always seem to come full circle.
