Interesting story about production lines in Paigewood

I thought the front end sheet metal was fitted after the drivetrain at Pagewood. What happened to the front section of stripes for HX/Z's ... under the visor?

That was going to be my next question should I be wrong on the last. Seems odd to have the stripes on the body without front sheetmetal fitted. What were the body's mounted on when on the train? Sounds like we need to find some old trainspotter/ amateur photographer who lived next to the main line in the 70's and has pictures of every load going by.

I can only tell you they were loaded length wise to the railway wagon, on double decker or single deck car transporters. Half the train mixed wagons, the other half bodies, with a few complete cars on occasions, possibly special orders or government orders.

First two are from when the Perth plant was open so incomplete cars and the last one is after the plant closed
so complete cars.
These pictures are from a train museum here in WA, there were taken to show the type of wagon and fortunately
for us there where some Holden's on them.
I suspect there would be a train museum in most states so it maybe worth checking out.

Thanks very interesting, the trim area looks massive...pity there still isn't all that productivity and jobs here in Australia anymore :(
