    Injected 5l engine

Hi every I'm thinking of putting ainjected 5l engine in a wb van with power steering and aircom. I have been told this will be hard to because aircon compressor will hit the throttle body. If I try and use the vn set up with the compessor on the bottom left hand side it wont fit because of the power steering box. Has anyone done this need help, dont want to loose air or power steer:(

I'll be keen to see the replies you get mate. My WB van has a v6 in it, but I'm thinking bout chucking the EFI 5L I have here in it.

I have power steering and aircon in mine with the v6. Don't know if that helps at all.

Hi thanks for that, the v6 has a different and in one a better set up with a lot more room to move. I'll have to do more research

Hmmm, I've got both engines here, still in cars though. Might have to look into it. I'd prefer to keep the steer/air as well.

Either make up a bracket to sit a compressor over the engine or fit a steering rack conversion to the car.

I've got a pick somewhere of an injected 5l with the factory HQ - WB style AC Delco compressor. I'll find it and post it for you.

Would you have that pic agro? I'm just about to convert my carbied 308/TH400 with a VR Clubby heads/injection etc and wondering just what bracketry I'm going to have to fabricate to get the A/C compressor in there as well.... if at all possible. I don't really want to lose the air con if I can help it....

Anyone know if I can get away with the Sanden (Commodore) compressor with the standard HJ set-up or will I need to look at an orifice tube set-up to suit the compressor? Or will I need to keep the old piston plugger?

    Regards,

    Dave
