    "HQ" Question.

Would there be any given reason why the HQ dash, only ran for that model? Where as, the HJ to WB shared the same style dash.

    Cheers.

From what I've been told it was an official government request to Holden ...

Although I can't remember their names, I was told by a mate of a mate, who's brothers, mothers sister was a member of parliment back in the day.

Her boss (the main dude) was so concerned that 485000+ HQ's brought soooo much awesomeness to the country that the government felt they had to step in. Everyone who jumped into a HQ saw how cool they were and wanted to buy one. They (the Government) decided that Holden couldn't have the monopoly of the car market and in all fairness of trade asked them (over a few beers one Sunday arvo at the local) to back it off a bit and design something a bit sh!ttier to give Fraud a bit of bit of a chance to get back into the market. The Holden boys obviously had a few more beers and did a handshake deal and agreed ... enter the HJ, nuff said!

... because thats just wrong. That is why. Use those FORD side vents reversed around the wrong way. Now thats a good look.

    Mauser

In fact reverse everything.... bonnet scoop, rear spoiler etc.

Come-on. Give us a HQ dash any day. (It goes nicely with the rest of my HQ). I mean where else can Mum make a couple of cuppas, but on the large fold down table (glovebox lid) with handy cup indentations?. Where else can you find good solid metal to bolt accessories onto (accessories like your 1973 5 lb CB with matching faux wood facia)? Where else can you pull the whole thing out with a shifter and a phillips, add a few extra gauges, mix and match a facia pannel and be on the road before said cuppa goes cold.
I admit Im a little biased,.. and that no modern radio/sterio fits in without help from a angle grinder and rounded bastard, but at least the Q dash is made of good solid stuff. ... (Besides the impact absorbing top bit...... safety all the way)
