    HQ-Z & WB ute tub

Just curious if there is a difference between the HQ-Z and the WB ute tub.

All i can tell is the indicator on the side of the rear quarter has been deleted.... that and the obvious tail lights arent the same.

Is there any other difference between them.....subtle or otherwise?

    Cheers for any help

HQ have no holes for retractable seat belts (in the cab though, not the tub).

WB kingswood will have holes all the way along the side for the mouldings. Earlier kings woods had the pins.

as above plus..wb has bracketry differences under the dash for wiring clips and also has commodore style wiper jets...hq obviuosly has a totally different dash arrangement and does not have a hole for an accelorater cable.also has different plenum chamber beauty lines correspondin with the bonnet.
hq and hj have the square hole in the firewall for wiring ..hx hz wb have the round hole in firewall for wiring...wb has a different amount of holes to hold the scuff plates down..
wb bucket seat cars will not accept hq to hz seats without drilling 3 holes but bench seat will interchange across all models.
wb you will have to drill holes to accept hq to hz tailights and surrounds.
some very slight hole differences in firewalls from hj hx hz wb ..
thats all i can think of at the moment.
other than those differences if you take a hj hx hz wb body you can easily convert between the models..hq is the hard one to convert to hj to wb style.

There is other firewall stuff too as Greg suggests, console mount differences etc but I didn't bother with that as the query was on the tub bit. I think the early ones also had removable panels over the rear chassis mount bolts, later were welded in.

You only need to drill 2 x holes Greg to fit WB bucket seats into HQ-HZ, I thought it was only 2 as well for the reverse ie HQ-HZ buckets into WB.

That's definite and occurred in HJ between early 1975 and beginning of 1976.
