I was there when that was filmed (the take away looks nothing like it did back then

It was like 500 degrees in the shop as they had a huge bunch of those flood light looking things and wouldnt let up in for ages and i started abusing people cause i wanted a drink

I loved that film it depicted what our lives were like in the day to the Tee...the only difference with us was we were in the country, but the mentality of youth was depicted very accurately....(some of the bits were a bit exaggerated though)

Oh, and then a guy i played darts with in the 80s helped with all the cars from running on empty (best movie ever) and showed me pics that he took of Fox, the XY and the 57

Then there's m mate around the corner that is a GM specialist whodid a 502 conversion on one of the chev trucks they're using as a camera rig for Mad Max 4
He also did work on other vehicles for thm as well

actually, we should try and arrange a special drive in night for the 30th Anniversary or Running On Empty for next year

Awesome movie I have it as well..and I hated seeing them slamming into the back of that XY down at Newcastle foreshore, we all recently went for a run in our vans there actually....(forum get together)
Yes we should have a drive inn night, and screen Running on Empty, good idea....the Mad Max 4 vehicles, and set are all in a shed at Silverton, or somewhere nearby waiting for production to begin I think it is too green out there atm to start the movie...or so I have been told by somebody in the know...
