hq-wb front doors

hi everyone,
can someone let me know if there are any differences between HQ and HX front doors. I need to replace mine and have come across HQ NOS door skins.

door skins are the same for HQ to WB, doors are slightly different with HZ and WB having side intrusion bars.

HQ are different to the rest, the midline is lower and the gap around the plenum is bigger + the little insert in the top of the front corner, where as the HJ-Wb don't have these.
you can always pick them from 10 meters away and they just don't look right on HJ-WB
glass is different to

one of my pet hates is when people change doors, but leave the wrong door handle for that model, e.g .HZ/WB handle in a HJ

The door skins are the same on HQ through to HZ according to the parts catalogues. As I said the complete door assemblies less hardware are slightly different and HZ/WB have the side intrusion bars.

good point Absinth the part number shown on one of the door skins was 2819410.
the pair sold for $225 on ebay outbid in the last minute . what a bargain

Check your door to see if it has been re-skinned at some time in its life, an incorrectly fitted skin can cause the problems you have mentioned.

adam,they are no different and will all fit the same hole and unless its a real early hq door that had power windows you can easily change the internal hardware by drilling a couple of holes..

what you may have that does not fit is a taiwanese door shell that was sold in the 90s for a short time..they were really badly produced and did not fit in the areas you are describing..

i have sold literally thousands of front doors for hq hj hx hz wb in my 30years wrecking cars professionally and i have only ever had problems with those aftermarket ones ive just described.

hq to wb front doors are all the same and do fit but have little hardware things that are different..

hq hj early hx have no side intrusion protection..late hx hz wb on sedan/wagon/statesman have side intrusion protection..

all hq to wb commercials..ute/van/tonner have no side intrusion protection...

glass and front chanel and the little dovie in the top corner of an hq door are the only things that make a hq door diffent...and the ashtray hole...

i could probably sit here for another hour typing the small other bits that are different but its not that important..:knockout:
