GTS Dash Id needed

Just trying to figure out if this is a genuine Holden dash or a reproduction one. It has a GM part number on it

If it is repro, how do you tell?

That part number is for the lamp funnel assembly rather than the complete fascia.

My HJ fascia (I see yours is a HX-HZ) has an adhesive sticker on the back with the part number. The only common number I have seen is a GM 7-1 on the rear under the centre vent.

if what looks to be a silver edge in the pic is chrome then it is a genuine one...take a close up pic of the idiot light lenses [under the clock] and post it please..thats another identifier...

Here a few more pics.

The dash facia is not as shiny as the original in my van. It is a bit more of a mat black and the little raised bit for the RTS badge is differnet to the original GTS dash and a standard Kingswood dash I have both of which have the whole RTS badge stuck directly to the dash facia with no raised bit moulded into the dash like this one has.

I haven't seen a wiper dwell infill piece with GTS moulded into it on original GMH fascia's. I haven't looked closely at a repro fascia to know if they are moulded the same as original with regards to markings.

The moulding on that fascia looks pretty good and there doesn't appear to be any mould imperfections around the clock hole.

Is the silver border painted on or chromed?

absinth..the wiper infills are standard with gts moulded into it...

going by the idiot light font i would say its genuine...
the chrome edge even when new isnt that chrome looking and goes to silver fairly quick that ive seen over the years..i shall put up a couple of pics of a nos fascia i have tomorrow..:roo:

Thanks Sean and Greg. What do you think about the raised bit for the RTS badge? Was this a later feature for a different type of RTS badge?

Well I will have my $2 worth. My wb has the original gts/sports dash in it. Its an 4/84. It has no raised bump but has the stick on RTS badge. So unless they changed back to a stick on badge for the last WB's I dont reckon thats original. Could be wrong though.
I also distinctly remember the ones that Bumper to Bumper(autobarn) were selling in about 1995 did not have the chrome outline as I wanted to get a spare for my blue wb and it was wrong. They were flogging them at the time for about $120 and they were agents for Rares so I assume they were the current repros of the time.
Greg do the NOS ones youve got have the bump or the stick on badge?
