Hi. Yes have notice some interesting vans for sale and with very high prices on them. This is why it's now, seller beware, in
that court case in VIC. The judgement went like this, if you advertise a car as something and attach a price that supports
your description, it has to live up to that description and price. In 2004 they purchase that GT for $70 000. The court case
was heard in 2011 and the GT was valued at $100 000, the court reduced this amount by 5% to 2009 value, because that's
when the purchaser found out that it was not genuine. They agreed that the vehicle, as spare parts was worth $20 000,
so this amount was deducted from the $95 000, this left $75 000 add on court cost and the seller now has to pay
$81 666.78 to the buyer. The buyer kept the vehicle after it's value had been deducted from the payout amount.
So if you reshell a base model holden panel van or ute, no is going to care, but if you do it to a sandman and then sell it for
top dollar. Then you have just made yourself ticking financial time bomb. This is were law is wrong and it needs to be modify, to allow for legal reshelling with a percentage drop in value. As is the case with engines and chassis.
