    Shed advice

i am just looking into building approvals for my new mancave

i am allowed 75 Sq shed.

    i want to get 4 sandmans in there, so i was thinking 12.5 x 6 OR 12 x 6.25 meters?
only allowed 2.7 wall height or 31c

    any thoughts?

i just want to store them, not so much work on them.

I'd go the extra length so you can have a workbench/storage area/chillout area at the back. The extra .25 down the side is going to be pretty useless. Gives you a bit extra door space but nothing else. Better off having 2 against the wall on one side to give you the door space on the other 2.

My mancave if I had built it would have been the deeper option

I have a 6m deep one and that little extra would be ace

Thoughts to consider if you ever get a hoist you have space infront and behind to work and walk around it, can have a bench of racking in front of car,

I have a 4 bay shed 13 m long, each bay has a 2.7m door in it that extra width is also handy think opening doors etc, never down sixz always push for more, and one bloody must is a mezzanine, great lil additions, I love mine and soon will be kitted out for storage and drinking, downstairs for just cars and work bench, upstairs will be parts and as i said drinking

Mine is 12m W x 7.5m D wth 4.2m gutter height. The extra depth is necessary, go the 12 x 6.25 and buy a parking hoist.

Currently mine has 3 x cars in it, a forklift and a 2 pole hoist plus heaps of cr@p, but I also have pallet racking down the centre and the RH side plus across the back. And a bathroom in one corner. And a mezzanine across the pallet racking.

Get a big wide door across one double bay, makes it easier to get stuff in and out.

    Adam,

I really also depends on which way the shed is going to face?

Is the long side going to have the 4 bays facing out through doors or is it like a double tandom, cars parked 2 deep?

i went a bit wider when i built mine and i have my bench and tools near the door so if you do have to work in there your not dragging things past the cars all the time also allows you to open the car door wider

Good point Oz. If you made it 12.5x6 you should be able to fit 6 cars in there using rollers and putting them in sideways as close as possible to each other. That's assuming you're putting in a nice slab that the rollers will work on.

i just really want to get as many cars in there as possible in any configuration. 600mm would be nice at the back of the shed for racking, for 308 / 350 blocks and T400's / aussi boxes etc. - which i won't need to access much, maybe 1 time a year, at which point i will move cars out to get at them..
i have a rumpus room converted into a car rebuild room, + 3 car garage at front, so its just for storage.

i just ran tape over WB stato with tow bar, need roughly 5.2 m long x 2.2m wide to get it in there - tight. - so i am now thinking 2 deep (11m), 3 wide(6.8m)?? i have cars i won't touch till 2020 probably..
i don't mind using dolly jacks to make it all work...
