Find the owner and offer cash to get rid of 'that old tradies' van next to his house cos 'you need some parts for yours'.... win win.. Otherwise just take the bloody thing if its been abandoned... Maybe speak to the council and police first though about the legalities...

Im on my way with a tow truck, take now sort out legalities later, 4 years ago there was a hz 308 auto prem gts dash 12 slot wheels in good condition no reg sitting on the side of the road in the mountains for 3 months, every day i would drive past it,i knocked on the doors of the houses either side of where is was parked and no one knew who owned it,so i knew it would not be long before the council or rta would remove it, so i decided to take a chance,and rang the local towie and had it picked up and taken to my place, i then found some paper work in the glovebox that gave me a lead, the owner was from wellington nsw, i contacted him and he was supprised that the car was still there, it had broke down and he abondoned it, he owned it for over 10 years, i asked what he wanted me to do with it and he said i could keep it, he even signed and sent the rego papers to me, i then went about finding out why it had broken down,guess what it was, a burnt out set of points,replaced the points started first go, even had 1/2 tank of fuel left, cleaned it up put 12 months rego and sold it for $4 grand, True story,
