when i first bought my van was 15 had no license and let my mate sneak in the back and lose his virginity, after about ten minutes the alarm went off about 3:30am as the van was rocking too much. it woke up the whole neighbourhood including my mum and dad who ran out in their undies too see what was going on. Was very embarrasing as it was my sisters best mate who was in the back haha. sad part is he christened it before me the bastard

I dont know that this all that funny, but when I was at school in Sydney my brother rang and let me know him and a mate were coming over from the army base to pick me up and take me home for the weekend. Now my brother had lost his license for DUI and had not got it back yet.
Well here he turns up to pick me up, driving his mates van cause his mate was busy. Not only that, but if you were trying to not stand out from the authorities would you drive an XY Falcon van with a 351 V8, 8" 12 slotters and a set of chrome tailpipes that consisted of 4 tips on each side?
He then took me back to army base but not before stopping in the main street in Liverpool to go to the bank.
His mate drove us the 350ks back to home. I rode in the back with my brothers girlfriend, nothing exciting happened there though. :errf:
I had a couple of mad trips home with him when he got his license back in his wb ute to. I used to love going over the Bells Line of road with him in that old WB. Probably why I cant ever get them out of my system.

    Speeding and swapping

I have remembered another occasion......Okay, well I hope none of you guys or girls are anything to do with the police force, but....when I had just started going out with Rodney.....we went to a party in my home town...and he had a few drinks, and I didn't so I could drive home.....we set off for the half hour trip home on the Newell...the Trots had been in Parkes hense they were all finished and coming towards us and Rodney said I was driving into their lights, and insisted he should take over the driving...so we changed over....he of course drove very fast in those days, and went around some bends doing 120kms, the police were coming towards us and pinged him..while they were turning around to chase us, I said "you are over and you will loose your license for sure as you are also speeding" I said I can swap as they can't see into the back of the van, so we changed seats, how I do not know, as we were still travelling, i said "put my seat belt on and get the seat forward so I can depress the clutch, to pull over....anyway the policeman asked me why I was going so quickly around a dangerous corner?, I made up some excuse about not being used to the car:o

He paid the fine, and the only thing I have to say is it saved his license, and he will always owe me one...luckly we got married.....

Back in the late 80's I was the drummer in a band that had a regular gig near the Richmond Railway station in Melb. We'd pack this place with 200 people each Sat night and I do not tell a lie when I say most of them were gorgeous women.

I had a HQ Sandman at the time and typically decked out with brown shag and two teardrop windows near the back, the van was primarily practical in those days, as I would cart my drums in it even during the week.

However Benson's (this pubs name) was notorious for being a hang out for the 'nicer' girls out on the town at this time, so the deal with the other band members was that my drum cases stayed backstage during the gig instead of back in the van. So that it could be used for other stuff like socializing.

One particular night I remember using that van between each of our 3 sets!
