We are doing the same with our Ute, I think rares do some reasonable ones, they mostly crack off as they are brittle from age....some may come off but others may break...jimmy off carefully I am thinking...let me know how you get on...

When I took mine off I just took the plates off on the inside of the tub and hit them out from the inside with a rubber mallet. None broke but I lost a few pins. But I bought a whole new repro set for $15 off ebay and 2 years later none have broken.

Go easy as it's easy to put dents in the panels levering them.

Geez, when my HZ was new, the hook's used to just pop off as soon as you put any tension on the rope. They must toughen up after 32 year's. ha,ha.
