If you have a 202 HX commerial with XX7 on the plate it is doctored or a mistake. Defintely NOT a Sandman.
No such thing. Plates have been tampered with or the seating capacity is a mistake.
i beg to differ HK1837 there are 2 XX7s with 3seats on tag in mackay and and they are original owners, my first sandman was a bench seat because i ordered it that way new in 1979 it was 253 4 speed and you say it carnt be a sandman if it is 202 unles it was built in brisbane so if i tamper with my seating capicity tag then my ute is a genuine sandman that dosent make sence to me.Another thing ther is a 202 sandman van for sale in mackay at moment for $3000 needs resto
There is no such thing as a HZ 6cyl Sandman. There is no such thing as a Sandman with bench seat. Yes, a dealer could change it out for you if that is what you wanted, however it left the assembly plant with buckets. This is indisputable. I have seen one Acacia Ridge plated vehicle with XX7 on the BODY tag and a 3 seat capacity, however this is an obvious mistake or plates on the car did not originate on the same vehicle. I'm almost certain that particular example has mismatching plates. Being built in Brisbane has little relevance, option code is only one of many ways to pick a Sandman.
I have come across a lot of supposed one owner Sandmans that were anything but. Normally they were optioned up BO6 or Kinsgswoods that a dealer had put Sandman stripes onto and sold as a Sandman to unknowing owners.
A car dealer wouldn't do something unscrupulous like impersonate a Sandman with a Kingswood knowingly would they?

ok thanks for the info just had to find out but what the hell i still have a rare ute with a Brock Group A motor and drive train, all the best great web site and can you get the My Sandman stickers still
Factory re-stamped Brisbane XX7 tags like the ones on this HJ van. There must have been some that did not get re-stamped out there that continue the bench seat myth.

thanks for that it proves my theory that there were 3 seater tags sold
