i personally think that they look like a couple of lines with colours and a curl at the back....which also happens to suit the body lines..
Who knows, they looked good though. They had a better look than the Sundowner. Drifters looked good but.
I am sure most of bought or read the Feb - March edition of Unique Cars Magazine, reading this thread about the graphics trickered my memory reading an article about a guy who bought a red HZ sandman who also happens to be in the body repair business and the story of how when he first drove the van to work and the proprietor of an adjacent factory came straight over to inspect the van and proceeded to tell owner of the sandman that he done the graphics design for the decals some 30 years ago.
Put a surfboard upside down and have a look. It's not exact but saying it's NOTHING like it is stretching things abit. Each to their own, but it's a very definate resemblance. Sand, Surf....Looks like a surfboard on top of a van to me.
As far as suiting the lines of the car, it does, but how the square shape of those model cars leads to the curves stripes i don't know.
That's my opinion anyway....and I reckon the Drifters looked good as well.
