    HX Sandman ute

    I have a HX ute. 2/77 AHX23096S 1860kg Seating 2
    Model 8WM80XR
    Body # 915995-S
    Trim 1915-67V
    Paint 568-17779
    Engine L31 Trans M21

I believe this to be a genuine sandman ute but am chasing some confirmation.

    Thanks Jim

I cannot confirm for sure it is a Sandman but I'm pretty sure it is. I've had this one recorded for a while but I didn't have a build date or chassis number. Couple of things to check:

Has it got door switches for the interior light?
Can you get the number off the firewall above the heater box?

The chasis # from what I read is AHX23096S.
It does have the light switches on the doors
The # above the heater box is 22011S

    Thanks. Jim

With the door switches i'm more than 95% sure it'll be one.

Thanks. I bought it last week it has power steering & A/C. How would I be able to find out if it is the original motor?

    Thanks. Jim

Send me the engine number and i'll tell you if it isn't; can't guarantee that I can tell you if it is though.

That is a GMP&A replacement engine, from around 1975-6. Keep it, it is the next best thing to the original. ENgine must have sh!t itself early in its life.
