    yep, been on the cruise with them, about five minutes into top vidio you will see my sandman ute? good cruise , a few sandmans but none of the others

    New to this website & just wondering if anyone can give me any info on the Sundowner XC panelvans.I purchased a 1978 sundowner JG47,302, 4 speed,gs options,rally pack tag,matching numbers,tailgate,model code 45684.other than that I dont know much about them but hear they're quite rare.Does anyone have more info on them

    i have one but dont know much more than you. i am told the 351 option gave it rear disc brakes.i would be keen to know anything you find out.

    yeah hard finding info on them that's for sure,would like to know how many were made.Mine has the rear disc brakes.will let you know if i find any info on them.cheers

    Sundownder build numbers are as follows;
    678 made in 1977
    357 made in 1978
    142 made in 1979

    Giving a total of 1177.

    i wonder how many are left. take out the stolen/insurance jobs, accident write offs, used as donors, roofs cut off to be made to utes, and the biggest killer of them all,rust
    would guess under 50, maybe less than 10 on the road

    Went to look at a kingswood 2day and there was a widowless xc van no motor but the rest of the car is all there he said it was a sundowner van 1500 would this b worth getting if its real cheers

    Speak to Russell who owns the cobra sundowner, he has a pretty good handle on them and told us how to identify them from the plates, its easier than identifying a sandman...I should have written it down, so have forgotton
