Those of you with F0rd tasts

Here is the only F0rd I have ever liked. An XA. Not a GT but still looks good.

The first and only of the coupes I liked. Best nose, best rear. Best dash. Shame it is only a POS 302 Cleveland, and not an XA GT RPO83 with US block.

302 should only have a single rail and Borg Warner, not that much different to Aussie 4spd and 10-bolt? Equivalent of an XA GT with toploader and 9" would be a HQ with Muncie and 10-bolt. Ford might have been in front with the 9" over a 10-bolt but lose every time against a Muncie!

PS, I don't think there is too many of us that would choose (as an engine) a 308 over an XA GT 351. But I'd have one any day over an Aussie built 302 Cleveland! I'm talking pre ADR27A versions of both. HJ spec 308 are a very good engine.

i reckon the 12 slots kind of suit it from the photos, normally they look rubbish even on fords but worse when people put them on holdens

Interesting bit of information I picked up elsewhere on the net recently. Apparently once the Phase 4 idea was canned a lot of the spare JG33 blocks they already had got put into Fairlanes and F350's. Might be worth checking the numbers if you come across either of those models rusting away in a paddock somewhere.

Seem to remember reading somewhere (twenty+ years ago, so may have it wrong) that some of the F-series ambulances and either LTD's or Fairlanes as you say got some of them too, along with the odd set of 4V (can't remember open or closed chamber) heads.

I think I'd be wary of the coupe in the link. If they couldn't be bothered removing the top shock mounts/rubbers etc to paint it, what else have they rushed on during the rebuild? The donk would be a bit whiffy without its PCV fitted if it is a bit long in the tooth too.

i havnt heard that one before 33= gt 4 dr sedan 66= gt2dr coupe so if they were put into fairlanes or f100 they would not suit body as the engine and body numbers are the same in the older fords i always believed that the phase 4 goodies got put randomly into the xa gt witch became option rpo 83
