Put new 8 inch rims on the back yesterday with new 235s. Ordered 225s for my pair of 7inch front wheels. Should be here tomorrow. Bolted the spoiler on properly also and screwed the side bits on. Drove it to old man spring genius today and booked it in for spring resetting next weds. Booked it in the week after for new headlining.... Last week put the rare spares tailgate lock thingy in. Still got plenty of things to do but gettin there...

Hmmm, having only just picked it up on Sunday I have driven it every day to work, loving it! A bit hot though... Need to buy some air for it. I am going to start my 'shed' blog showing how it was in 1996 before it was converted from the sandman van to what it is today - a ute. Came with an inch thick folder of documents including the engineer report on the conversion to a ute, the panel costs, etc etc.

Being on the wrong side of 40 I found it funny to be followed closely by 'the fuzz' this morning, very closely and for a long distance, till I went around a round-about and I could almost read their lips "ah it's just an old fella" and they backed right off... Hahahahaha, I felt 18 again!

I am just thinking about doing: Fix the clock, fit air con, replace the 'sports wheel' that was put on when the stock wheel broke, get some original wheels to get rid of the hot wires. Then I'll block it back and paint it Jade Green again, put the stripes back on, then in the future when I find a good van turret I will put that back on.

Sat in it in the shed, glass of scotch in hand and dreamed of finishing it off one day.

My 2 Sandman and their 2 other mates, have been enjoying there retirement for the last 19 months. Stored away for the moment. Mainly I had alot of changes, redundant from work, rehired back to work (same company) and working away from home, building a bigger shed, shifting house and finally had carpal tunnel operation on both hands (one hand at a time). Will be starting a new job, when I get the all clear from the doctor, living at home again instead of working away from home town, shed nearly finish and take the old holden out on some local club runs. Also have been buying alot of parts, their will be alot of time spent in the shed.

Just finished 2nd glass of scotch, thinking I could have actually done some work instead of just dreaming about it.

I had that op done in 2001 and 2002 each hand, best thing I ever did....

Called into Adam's this arvo, who is doing our Ute now, all straightened, and a rust cut out, now decided since one inner guard was removed to fix up some outer guard rust, to take out other guard and paint it black as the engine bay was all painted mandarin red, which we don't like, have to wait to paint the fire wall, brake booster and master cylinder, back to black, and original silver colour when we take out the motor, but at least it is a start....

I moved mine and took the Simmons off and GTS wheels back. Put the Simmons back on Torana where they belong and will stay.

I am not sure what a lug nut is, but I can tell you they have a tapered edge up against the wheel. Hope that makes sense.
