The panels on those vans are kind of designed with that idea in mind and the windows are perfectly shaped to suit. Might look a bit weird on an old Holden van unless you either got glass custom made to suit the lines perfectly or put a step around the holes so that the windows sat flush with the side panel. You'd want to mode your rear tailgate and do the same with the glass there too I reckon.
