I can pretty positively say that bubble windows were only aftermarket, not Holden. I love the clean look of windowless, and maybe now have a leaning towards them, but having grown up with a windowed Sandman loved it and from a practical point of view like them. As others have said, windows help the blind spot and in my opinion for rear passengers add to the view (seatbelt laws have changed since I was a kid, so this may no longer be a valid point).
As a P plater (1990) I had 8 passengers legally cruising around western NSW going to a few parties. At that time the seat belt laws allowed this because the car is only a 2 seater, as long as the 2 seat belts were used and the rest of the passengers were within the vehicle, it was okay. A great law for the panos.
On the poll then I'm sitting on the fence.
