Yeah you could. A WB round headlight grille. Or a non-XY7 tonner grille (same as the chrome one but painted).

Bonnet scoop is yukky too, but when you put a fatty in a HQ it isn't all that easy to fit it under the bonnet. Maybe a better scoop would fix it. Or just replace it with a 6/71 Blower.
so a big block wont fit under the bonnet of a HQ ?

It will with the right mounts, manifold, carb and air cleaner but I think you still have to remove bonnet ribs and itis all a compromise.

SB easily fits under the bonnet, some minor problems in HJ-HZ with a factory HQ L30 fan shroud but none in a HQ. BB is LOTS bigger though.

Too much screwing around with that ute to make it look desirable. Just drop a bigger engine in a replica, and then you have it all. It is a replica, so you have more freedom for such thing's.

Agree in some ways, but it has a great body (supposedly) and for the price you'd never buy and build it.

Yeah, definitely Byron. I was more thinking if someone had a replica already. On here I just don't say as much as I would in a normal conversation.

Or buy it and swap the running gear over and on-sell it!

Kinda related to the thread, but what other grills wouldn't have the stainless trims?
The reason I ask is because one of the NOS HJ Grills that I have doesn't have the trims or the recessed clips to accept the stainless trim.. Very confusing.
