Thinking of Selling my Sandman

[L31 Sandman]

I am thinking os selling my sandman. It is a HX L31 M21., comes with the original motor which was recoed at some stage, but I would atleast pull it apart for a look. I did have it running before I pulled it apart.
Have an M21 gearbox and it currently has a 1 tonne 3.55 diff and springs in it, but I do have the original housing and springs.
I have every part needed to restore this car to original, thats every part! other than new interior trim, but original is still there.
GTS dash, console, GTS wheels etc, original radio all in excellent condition.
I have chased down rust free doors (2), front guards (4) standard front and prem front both with rad supports, original bonnet and another one. There are rust free rust repair sections from a donor car. Rare Spares floors supplied.
There is the usual rust in the front cowl and sills, the rear 2/3rds of the car is excellent. Gutter needs a couple of sections (supplied) repaired.

im gonna have a stab and say 4,500-7.

a runnning and driving 308 T400 unlicensed HX with no GTS gear sold over here recently for high $5's if thats anything to go off

...although ANYTHING is possible on ebay :hororr:

HX will hold it back but 308 (and the original one) and Papaya will push it forward. I reckon $6500 give or take $1000. Someone may want it more though!

Wow... that colour is stunning when done. I think that improves the value by heaps....

You will have to really consider being that if you want another one later it will only be more difficult. Because of sites like this and the cost of buying some of the other collectable Holdens increasing dramatically they are rising steeply lately.

IMO being a HX doesnt really take from the value by a lot. It is probablly the least desirable but because of that there are less of them around. How many restored HX vans do you see with out someone making it out to be a HZ lookalike?....

I sold a genuine all matching numbersmistral grey HZ sandman last year on fleabay which was probably in similar condition to yours. It needed full resto and came with all the parts except the GTS dash. Was orig a 253 auto and came with the original engine but wasnt running. I got $5500 for it. If that helps.

Thanks foe the feedback on this one guys. To be honest I would really like to finish my Torana and selling the Sandman would help a lot. Having said that I have had the Torana off the road for half my life, so a bit longer won't hurt either, but before I die would be good.
The Sandman would look good finished and with Scott Thomson Electrical on the sides and cruising to jobs in it on good days would be cool.
