He told me it owed him mid $30'S, he didn't do any of the restore himself.

I'm fortunate enough to be a mining electrician, and have been investing for retirement since I was an apprentice. While I like tinkering with cars (have done up a couple of old landcruisers) I'm a bit time poor at the moment with kids and my rodeo hobby that people tell me I'm too old for (so I'm getting in as much as i can while I can) so taking on a restore at this point was/is not really an option.

SO..while I did manage to knock a bit off the asking price, paying the $28K and flying from Emerald in Central Qld to Canberra to drive it home didn't really phase me. It's about what it is, who want's it, and what they are prepared to pay, like anything really.

Just need white HZ van and 4 door GTS to go with it now, but just have these boarding school fees to get past first........
I would have to agree with Paddy on this subject I know that I paid $2-$3,000 more than I should have for my van and I've said this before. But it was what I wanted, a HZ with a 308 and 4speed Windowless Van. Yes I'll spend more on it than I'll ever get back. But not everythings about money and value. This is my relaxation from working 7 days a week and a twenty year dream. So what price do I put on that!!!
