Les. Would it be possible to ask for EOIs across the length and breadth of the AU/NZ internet forums and a non-refundable (if the order goes ahead after garnering enough interest) deposit? I guess you would need to make the final price fairly clear from the outset. I'll put my money where my mouth is if you can swing it.

    Regards,

    Dave.

I do not believe we have to ask for EOI as I am sure there is a market there, the problem is that we have advice that we should not make them because they will not meet the required standard (ADR) and if that’s the case we would not be able to sell them. From what I have found out today all aftermarket steering wheels must meet ADR’s.

that wouldn't make it a replacement part then. seems like it constitutes misleading conduct. you should look at revising your fitment guide

But isnt the goal of Rares to help "restore" your ride...not modify? A part thats different from factory issue would essentially be a mod.....thats the way i see it anyways.

Thanks Les for trying to help clear the confusion BTW

Maybe your problem is in the wording.... It isn't an aftermarket steering wheel.... It is a reproduction of an original factory supplied steering wheel.

I wonder how the reproduction GT steering wheels hold up against current ADRs? I wouldn't have thought the XW/XY three spoker would have a better collapse rating than a 5mm GTS wheel.

We are not the original manufacture of the wheel so it’s considered an aftermarket product and yes it probably is the wording but unfortunately that’s the way it is
The XY wheel does not meet the ADR’s as far as we know that why we do not sell them.
