I hear what your saying too hj308..... its cyclic how everything eventually comes around for sale

The one ive found has orginal interior, a hq chassis...but not its original factory chassis. A date coded motor is fairly easy to find...she just needs body work.......all the panels are there also!

True what your saying Robbo.....matching numbered vans are getting harder to find...but finding the rarest of the Sandmans with matching numbers is even harder.

Way back when I was in my twenties, and we were buying these vehicles new, no one was concerned about motor's, gearboxes or diff's, believe me on this. Motors were being heavily modified or turfed, and the same with the rest of the driveline. Then the next bit was the interior and body work, ute's were, to a lesser extent, the same. Many HQ's were ordered with a V8 and 4 speed, well before Sandman came along. So to find any Sandman is an historic moment, I would not be deterred by it not being matching number's in any way. To find one with anything matching is comparable to winning the lottery.

Cheers.
