WB Clutch Problem...

There is 100% a little rubber bizzo that wedges in between where the cable end goes into the pedal. This stops the cable un-hooking if you pull the pedal back up towards the dash. Will try and get a pic but it is really hard to see it. I don't have a parts book, but surely someone has a WB one out there with a picture of the clutch pedal assembly. Mine is an April 84 one, so maybe it is a late update as well.
As long as it passes the brake test you will be good to go. Also make sure you have some idea if the place doing your blue slip has any compassion towards old cars or they can make getting a old series car hard to get through. Stupid stuff like sagged door hinges etc become a top priority to some power tripper paper pushers.

what stopper are you talking about, on all wbs and late hz the clutch will pull back the other way, no stopper or not on any i have seen, also not a roadworthy item. if you want to stop the cable popping off when you pull it back the wrong way, i have just put a small hose clip around the bit where the cable sits in.
Also if you are trying to set clutch pedal height , should be even with the brake pedal for roadworthy, this is set at the plastic adjustment on the bracket on the gearbox. no slack required in the clutch fork, unlike the rat trap and also no return spring on the outside clutch fork if its late hz or wb.

Thanks mate, you are correct.. There is no 'rubber stopper' that stops the clutch pedal from being able to be pulled up to the bottom of the dash. The actual pedal where the prong bends (the cable connects to..) it rotates around so as to not let the cable loose and fall off..

As I said above the bend in the pedal rotates around and prevents the cable from falling off.. I checked my Gregorys manual and it didn't have a picture of the pedals at all, and I checked my parts manual and thats where the clutch setup shows that there is no 'rubber stopper' in there..
That may be a possibility, my pedals are of an April 1980 WB (one of the first few thousand..)

Yeah, there is a possibility that it may not pass the brake test.. :( We have been chasing a vaccum leak for a while, and think that we have pin pointed it to the 'bag' in the brake booster.. Hopefully that is not the case, but if it is I will replace the booster and have another go..

If it does fail it will either be the small amount of rust bubbles showing or the brake booster that make it fail.. :(

Yep, have already picked the place that is going to be doing the blue slip.. We are friends with one of the workers, aswell as the guy that does the blue slips has a HZ wagon that is his daily drive..
