put a chev in it. you will never go back to a holden V8

That Sounds close About right, I didnt want to go to far with the engine as obviously everything else suffers eg fuel consumption, drive line ( the piss weak m20) but i think the 10 bolt sailsbury could handle more power,
but it gets along well and is reasonalby good on fuel, about 13 litres 100klm at 115klm and the cost for cam ,rejetting and timming was bugger all compared to putting a wirring loom in for fuel injection and all the other stuff that goes with it,so dont really see the point of putting fuel injected latter 5.0 litre or 3.8 v6

never late in a 5.0 litre
im putting a v6/5spd in, but not becasue i dont want a v8, stupid p plate laws, if i was allowed to drive v8 i would be putting in a inj304/5spd, as soon as my ute is finished i plan to build a inj355 stroker for my sedan, i reckon efi is the way to go these days, my sedan isnt going to be burnout or strip beast, just a nice cruiser with a bit of get up and go![]()
Thanks for the replies everyone after doing some further research and alot of thinking
I have found out the diff is a old banjo 2.78 which could explain my memories of lack of boogie LoL
So with that I will look around for a better diff maybe a 3.08 (want to be good a high speed but still have some off line ability - any advice here ?)
I will stick with 253 check out how much gas system is to get recert. and then get it roadworthy for rego .
Have abit of time cruisen and seeing how the new diff affects grunt then see if it is warranted to get 5ltr EFI
Any recommendations on 253 while I am working on it to get better performance - without pulling it to bits internally ?
Also does any1 know if you need pollution attached if equipped with LPG for Roadworthy?
My manifold etc doesnt look to have bits to set it up mmmm ??
Cheers again every1 for replies it has helped me be clearer about direction to take
