    Shite Service buying a Car

First off were looking at some new toys, Mum wonts a new small 4x4 and where looking at a New MINI to go with the Classic Minis we have

First we requested a brochure online for a new model of small 4x4, only to recieve an email saying

    Mr Trevor- aka me

Thank you for contacting Kia Motors Australia.

The sales brochure for the 2012MY Kia Sportage is only available as a download from the Kia Motors Australia website www.kia.com.au , to download a brochure click the mouse pointer on “Download a brochure” and then select the model of interest for PDFs of the brochure and specification sheets to appear.

wow for the cost of a stamp they cant even be bothered sending out a brochure, thats fine wasnt keen on one anyway and had the BS that goes with going to a dealer hence do leg work first before going in and being swamped from a over the top sales guy, so a no go there

Then we send of for a brochure on the New MINI wow cool got one, then followed up some clown - stooge, calling with Hi Im Paul, Paul who? of Paul from MINI the company, this is Thursday arvo before Easter, when most folk are running around mad including me, he promises me a test drive of a John Cooper Works car wow, thats great cause my local dealer said you have to buy it from the brochure, cause its a upgrade and they only do test drives on the standard model, and you can see how they handle and its a ''Better Experience '' with the performance package. So imagine my excitment when he (Paul) tells me I can test drive a Works Car

Then comes the email, text and Phone call all at 10.11am on Easter Saturday a,, at the same time, from a Ricky, Ricky who, oh Ricky from MINI, what is with this company and the phone manner, he stumbles through the conversation in broken english, hardly understanding my questions, I soon become annoyed its like a tele sales person, so this is the reply email i sent what do you think

    Ricky

Two straightforward things when approaching some one in regards to selling a car are honesty and professional. These are two small but important things in all of life, and in your game the two most valuable traits

I received a phone call from a Paul, wow Paul who, from MINI that’s a fantastic way to start a conversation, after stumbling through the conversation he asks if I wish to test-drive a JCW? Yes and is there one at a local dealer for me to try, yes at Worthington Mini Garage, fantastic pass on my details.

Today at 10.11am I receive an email, a text message and phone call all from you Ricky, at the very same time, marvellous effort, but you have no cars in stock, and stumble through the conversation, and you have nothing to offer.

Ricky last time I checked on JCW with the features I am interested in were looking at 70k car, and I have a pair of..... Calling me,

How would you react with such a amateurish manner when looking to buy a car

I would love for you to pass on your Managers Name and Head Office's contact details cause I am slightly unimpressed with the way our business has begun

If the local Bunning’s can give a glowing helpful reception with assistance in every isle, and team members there to help with any questions how does a multi million dollar business have stooges representing them,

So I hope after already speaking with Larry and Moe I hope I don’t get a call from Moe

Thanks for your valuable time, have a lovely Easter

    Mr Trevor
    Service Manager

Have a laugh cause I am in shock and yes I changed my name it better suits me, sorry for the rant but bugger me how hard is it, as I said bunning can nail it why cant BMW

gotta love salesmen when i was looking for a V8 commodore to tow my boat i was told by the salesman you dont want a V8 ..... i said ok see you later . and when we were looking for a new house they took our details and i told them i had 6 cars and a boat so i wanted a big shed or room to build 1 but obviously they must be deaf because they showed us 2 houses with big tool sheds and no room to build one and the best ones are the ones who come to your door and say you have to buy it today because tomorrow it will be dearer..... btw what the latest on neville ?

Where are the pics of your classic Mini's? I did a couple hours of tree pruning for a mate the other day and came home with a running, complete , and pretty bloody straight '74 Leyland Clubman.

I will agree whole heartedly.....but not just cars, but everywhere. It seems to me, the bigger the organisation, the poorer the service becomes. I'm surprised to hear about a bunnings store with good service. A while ago I called our local bunnies and enquired about the availability of small, disposable argon gas cylinders for my small mig welder. The reply I had was "***** sez, just hook it up to your barbeque LPG bottle, that should be OK...." Needless to say I was dumbfounded. Let us be aware also, that non-flammable gas fittings are R/H thread, and all flammable gas fittings are L/H thread. So I went down there, and articulated precisely what I was looking for, only to be told by three different floor staff, that if it was gas related, I needed to look in the barbeque section at the accessories area. none of them had any f..k.n idea.
Anywhere or anything else in huge stores.....forget it, you may as well be marooned on a desert island.

Yeah my wife has spoken to our very large local Toyota dealer 3 times over the last 4 years to get a quote on 3 different new cars. They have never got back in touch with is. Their loss though, we bought the hilux and prado in 08 from different dealers and now the prado is on 150000 km and due to be traded in. Looks like they miss out again.

ive negotiated many new and used car purchases for friends and family and can only report excellent service from dealers of brands like Holden, Suzuki, Toyota, VW and Subaru. If i ever felt like i was getting brushed id talk louder or just swap the shop. Just imagine how many dreamers and tyre kickers car salesman would have to deal with!! But as they say in sales... follow all leads (or something like that)

Half the time the salesmen are the dreamers and tyre kickers I reckon.
Have to eat my words now as the dealer got back with a good quote today.

As far as I'm aware salesman at the majority of larger dealerships are no longer on big commish. they need to do something like 7 per month to pay their wage and then they might earn a few hunge (if that) for every car after that. want good ol fashioned service? Tell them to bring back the commish!!!!

I hear you with tyre kickers,

different dealer yesterday young girl 20's comes bounding out very polite and helpfull, hi im jess how can i help she rattled off the deals and figures knew her stuff and was really genuine country girl

we asked about different specs and info, turns out shes a trainee and really keen, but not in your face keen keen into cars, sadly for her today one of the cars i was looking at was a landrover defender i test drove it today and was the ost uncomfy car i have ever driven sits hurt after 10 minutes driven doors slams on your shoulder and you are squeezed up against door while your driving, so sadly for young jessica, she will miss my sale on that car, hmm will keep her in mind when another comes our way, lucky though she sells the ix35 so mum will be going back to her, and i tell you what that dealer looks after her she will be a good salesperson for them, keen person knowing her stuff

as for mini pics tell me where to post them and i will put some up
