I must admit i thought they where giving the older cars a rest and going more for the rice burners at the moment, but i spose if your doing the wrong thing you will always attract attention.
But still suprised a gilmer belt would be to noisy? and thank good my wb still has all the pollution gear there and intact.

I got done in my SS torana a few years ago for the pollution gear not connected up. number plate to high on the front flare. Wood grain GTS steering wheel. When i was heading to a car show at 6am in the morning.Doing nothing just cruising. Got runners up in top street coupe and hard luck award. Took the car to a mate (Mechanic) to get the defect off. Got done for more stuff at regency. It was at Christmas time he was ment to look after it until next yr. Got a phone call saying that my torana was writen off in a drag race better come down and have a look..

Thats nasty, nothing worse than a mate smashing your car, always stretches the friendship.
must admit i got done over by the epa a few times back in the B&S days when i had a twin system hotdogs and about 4 feet off 3" copper pipe underneath. was over 128db when they did one test, neighbours didnt like the start up at 6:30am every morning, learnt my lesson after the 5th road worthy, but in those days there was no fine or demerit points for unroadworthy.

OMG, man talk about Hard Luck award. So you wouldn't have come out of that cheap. What was the end verdict?

The Mechanic was drunk so he had no insurance, so my insurance company was suing him for the money.
He wanted me to cancel my insurance policy and he would rebuild it better than it was.. I said i trusted you with my car already and look what happened..

Had to try and take him to court to get the rest, but the Judge said at court its just a torana and u could find one anywhere...
Guess the judge wasn't a car enthusiast..
