A hectic lead up to yet another AHD with many a cold night in the shed for us. But all well worth it as we made it down on Friday to a royal welcome by all. After a bonnets up session in the car park we all wandered down to the Tavern and had a great meal. Early night for me and Miss TJ while a relatively sedate night was had in Gaddy and Annie’s room before all hit the hay ready for the swap meet the following morning. A good swap on Saturday and most got a good bargain. Those that tried too hard for a bargain got shown Oz’s new cup….
Saturday afternoon saw most give their Holdens a spit and polish. Sandmum showed Oz how to operate the carwash for the first time and the Van was looking shmick. After another bonnets up session we wandered back to the Tavern for another great meal. Quiet night followed ready for Sunday. Oz burbled out quietly in his van early and I didn’t even hear him – same can’t be said for the yellow and red Barnes brigade!!
As Jen mentioned there was a mix up with the areas so we had a NSW Vans area with about 10 vans and then MySandman.com.au with 9 of us (5 vans, 2 ute and 2 wagons). We rolled in about 8 and the gates were closed to daily entries then. Lots to see in the car park and also a few in the swap meet area as well. Official count was 811 Holden’s for the day.
Nice to meet Brian & Nicole and also Chris for the first time and of course all the regulars. Huge day of looking at Holden’s, talking, swap meet and awards. Well done again for first time vehicles of Brian and Dno’s for getting a trophy, Damo for 2nd year in a row. Excellent achievement for Rod and Jen on their ‘Holden Dealers Network’ perpetual trophy awarded by Dr Terry (author of 60 years of Holden).
Vans from the day.
